Since this polish was an LE halloween release a few years ago, it's pretty damn impossible to find. I was lucky enough to find a forgotten stash of these at some random dusty old job lot store a while back....and now I'm turning that luck into a chance for all you rockin peeps.

nails on crack from your favorite bimbo punk

I totally thought I was off the crack, but then they came out with glitter crack and I had a massive relapse. According to the flood of China Glaze press releases in my Google Reader app this morning, China Glaze is coming out with a line of glitter crackle colors and so is Nicole by OPI, but I won't be buying any of those those. Why you ask? Because I found a bunch of glitter crackle polishes that look JUST like the China Glaze ones at Five Below (a brand new MASSIVE Five Below that they opened a few towns over)...here's what I did with a few of them:

This is Funky Fingers Blue Glitter Scales (what they call their particular incarnation of crack--everybody's gotta have their own snazzy little name) layered over Fuchsia Glitter Scales layered over NOPI's It's All About the Glam.

I confess, the idea to layer one glitter crackle over another is not my original idea. I saw it on one of the other bazillion nail blogs that I follow and I would TOTALLY link to that blog right now if I could only remember which one it was (if I DO find it, I will def edit this post and put the link in). Damn faulty brain and its inability to remember junk!

These crackles are much more subtle than their non-glitter cousins. I discovered (after completely jacking up the first hand I did) that you should definitely use a thicker coat for these or it won't crack well--you'll just end up with what I call "canyon nails" (one massive crack down the center of your polish). Also, if you apply it over slightly wet polish, it will crack your basecoat (a problem I never had with regular crackles). 

Anyway, in the end, I'm glad I only paid 2.50 per bottle for these (they were 2 for $5) because, honestly, I'm not a fan. Glitter crack is whack...

Anyway, now for the bimbo punk portion of this post. Here's my look of the day:

"Riveting" news

Yes, I am STILL alive and guess what? My husband is home--YAAAY...this, of course means I can now resume showering regularly blogging!! I haven't even looked at my page in a while and I am SO excited to log on today to see I have reached the 100 follower mark (and went past it if you count the 10 followers from Bloglovin! OMG, seriously I thought it would take me FOREVER to get any kind of audience--thank you to everyone who liked my posts enough to click the "follow" button. Now that my husband is back, you will actually have new posts to read. Woohoo!

So, anyone up for some crappy photos of a seriously beautiful polish? Sweet. Here goes:

The above is, of course, China Glaze's "Riveting" from the Capital Colors Hunger Games collection. And it STILL manages to glow even in the face of a sucky camera and a depressingly overcast day! I'm not much for orange polishes usually. Not that I think they're bad--they just don't usually call out to me but this one DID and I'm glad I answered! Gold glass flecks in orangey awesomeness--LOVE!!. It's like burning embers on your nails (ouch that kinda sounds painful). I did 2 coats with SV on top and basically proceeded to stare at my nails for the 4 days I wore it. I should also mention that it did not chip at all during those 4 days--which is unheard of for me because with 3 kids and a house to take care of, my hands are always in water and my poor nails take such a beating. 

Anyway, YAY for Riveting and YAY for having time to blog again and super YAY for having 110 peeps to write to! 

Lemon Pepper nails

mmmm lemon pepper. Doesn't really taste that good as nail polish but I love the way it looks!

This is 2 coats of China Glaze Sunshine Pop from the Electropop collection and it's frickin gorgeous on its own--a perfect true yellow with a slight shimmer that doesn't lean green or orange or goldenrod or go all pastel on you--FINALLY!! And it goes on in 2 easy coats. Thank you China Glaze! Although I loved the yellow on its own (and yea I know I'm lame for not snapping a pic of it pre-glitter), I wanted to spice it up a bit (hellz yea for cheesy puns) so I added a coat of LA Girl Glitter Addict in Uninhibited (oh black glitter, how I love thee!!) and this is what I got.

Please pretend not to see any cuticle nastiness. Also, any rogue black glitter pieces are to be ignored as well.

Omnomnomnom....ok I need to make lemon pepper something for dinner cuz I can't stop thinking about it now...

total bummer: My Wet N Wild Flora and Fauna collection swatches came out all jacked up!

Yep, I managed to snag both  LE Wet N Wild spring makeup sets (for ONCE, my Walgreens had somthing LE!!). If you haven't heard about these yet, they are 2 sets of Wet N Wild cosmetics that come with a tube lipgloss, an eyeshadow trio, a blush and a bottle of Fast Dry nail polish. Here's a pic of the sets for reference:

I swatched and photographed everything but all the photos came out completely washed out cuz I was dumb enough to snap pics in full mid-day unfiltered sun. Oh well--lesson learned. I will reswatch and rephotograph soon, I promise! Just a few words til then:

 Both the eyeshadow trios are exclusive to this collection--and I confess I got these sets for the shadows alone cuz I'm a total WnW shadow freak. These shades live up to the hype and are the typical buttery, gorgeously pigmented awesomeness I have come to expect from Wet N Wild.  , Also,  the nail color in the Fauna color is the core Teal or no Teal, but the polish in the Flora collection is NOT a repackaged core collection polish. It's called Twining Vines and it's a gorgeous shimmering gold/green that looks JUST like the LE Summer 2011 Ocean Grotto shade from the Mermaid's Cove collection (which I never managed to track down because--like I mentioned--my local Walgreens usually blows when it comes to LE Wet N Wild releases)...

so consider this post a default teaser post...promise to get swatches up ASAP!

Green glitter gaudiness--gotta love it. 

The green glitter I used in this was the fantastically awesome Glamour Doll Eyes Eyelights in Cashed Out...I am LOVING these Eye Light glitters! They are so fine and sparkly and they are incredibly affordable too at only $4.00 for a full size pot (samples are available, too: 1.00 for .5 gram baggie and 1.75 for 1 gram of product in a 5 gram jar)! Once The Hubz gets back and I can get back to my regular blogging schedule, I'll be doing a massive swatch and review of Glamour Doll eye cosmetics...I'm SO frickin smitten!
